Dr. Head is a well-respected and much sought-after optometrist. She is recognized for her clinical excellence and outstanding patient care—from a child needing glasses for the first time to decisions regarding cataract surgery options. Dr. Head is well-versed in state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies. She has extensive experience in dry eye disease, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, computer vision syndrome and eye emergencies.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, Dr. Head went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She then completed several internships, one of which was at the Providence Veterans Medical Center.
Dr. Head believes that better doctor-patient communication leads to improved eye care. Honest and compassionate, she feels privileged to share in her patients’ lives, even if only in a very small way. She relates well and empathizes with patients, which helps her communicate more effectively with them. Dr. Head focuses her practice on educating patients to better understand their condition and treatment options.
Dr. Head is a contact lens and low vision expert. She performs detailed low vision evaluations to provide effective solutions to help those with compromised vision. She has extensive experience in routine and specialty contact lens fittings, including keratoconus, astigmatism, multifocals, post-graft and aphakia.
In her free time, Dr. Head enjoys running, music, movies and travel.
